China has become a priority market for Iranian carpets and handicrafts

China has become a priority destination for Iranian goods, such as carpets and handicrafts. Iranian Ambassador to Beijing Safari said at the Iranian Handicrafts Exhibition in Beijing.
Safari said that among the 1.35 billion people in China, there are 700 million urban populations, and about 400 million people have high purchasing power.
While stressing that China is the ideal alternative market for the EU and the US market, Safari said that the continued deepening of Iranian entrepreneurs in China can push Iran`s carpet exports to China to reach US$1 billion.
Safari said that in 2011, bilateral trade between China and Iran will reach 45 billion U.S. dollars. In 2011, Iran`s exports of non-oil products to China reached US$4.5 billion.
Safari expected Iranian officials from the Ministry of Industry, Mining and Trade to pay attention to the Chinese market. At the same time, Iran`s cultural heritage, handicrafts and tourism organizations should also pay attention.
